Meet Dr. Furnas
Dr. Heather Furnas is a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in surgical and nonsurgical procedures for the face, breasts, and body in Novato, CA. She is the co-founder of Plastic Surgery Associates Novato and has been in practice for over 20 years. With such extensive experience, she has earned quite the reputation for being one of the best plastic surgeons in Northern California. She utilizes modern tools and techniques to create natural-looking results that complement a patient's existing curves. She has a great passion for helping men and women achieve their desired goals so they can feel confident inside and out.

Education and Training
Dr. Furnas is a gifted plastic surgeon who completed her undergraduate and graduate education at Stanford University. After receiving her master's, she continued her education at UCLA School of Medicine where she attained her medical degree. From there, she returned to Stanford University to serve her residency in plastic surgery.

Dr. Furnas serves as an adjunct assistant professor of plastic surgery at Stanford University and lectures internationally on various topics of aesthetics. She frequently publishes scholarly articles in dominant plastic surgery journals and has earned numerous awards for her work. She was given the ASAPS Tiffany award in 2017 for best scientific paper on "Why Women Choose Labiaplasty." She also served as a guest editor on the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery® Journal on a series of articles on women in plastic surgery. The series received national acclaim and was given the Ozzie Honorable Mention Award.
Humanitarian and Hobbies
Dr. Furnas's love and passion for plastic surgery stemmed from the beautiful example of her father, a renowned plastic surgeon who volunteered with the East African Flying Doctors. Over the span of her career, she has visited Peru, Honduras, Western Samoa, the Philippines, and El Salvador to help children with cosmetic birth defects. However, her greatest joy is spending time with her family. In her spare time, she loves painting, reading, and writing.
